Our investor

Stonelake was founded by Lechi Zhang, who now plays a key role as our network's angel investor. His professional journey began in 2012 as a consultant on the equity desk at Bank of China International, where he conducted due diligence and prepared research reports for institutional investors. He later transitioned to private equity and venture capital, further honing his expertise in diligence and operational strategy.

An entrepreneur, Lechi founded an IoT-empowered retail project, which won the 1st place at a Techstars hackathon. He later co-founded two fintech startups in consumer/merchant lending.

Lechi is a frequent speaker, having presented at the Singapore FinTech Festival, Cornell University, the Peter G. Peterson Foundation, China Agricultural University, and Oberlin College. He has also contributed to Caijing, one of China’s top financial magazines, and has been interviewed or quoted by Forbes, MSN, The Economy, The Edge Malaysia, and other media outlets. He was invited to special programs for Collision, North America's largest tech conference, and Sibos, a leading meeting for the global fintech/payment industry. Notably, Lechi was a core founding member of the G20 (Group of 20) SME Finance Forum while consulting for the World Bank Group, a United Nations agency.

Lechi graduated from Cornell University with honors and has completed the private markets certificate program at the University of Oxford.
